Yesterday at our churches worship gathering was week three of our current series “Life Together“. We’ve been looking at what it would look like to live as a covenant community, on mission in our city for the glory of God.

Mystery, exists to “Glorify God, through lives transformed and a city change, by the power of the gospel.” To this end we labor, pursuing our mission to “Love Jesus, Live in Community and Make Disciples”.

As we unpacked Acts 2:42-47 we saw several things the early church, brought and bound together by the gospel, devoted themselves to. Scripture, Worship, Evangelism and Fellowship being primary to their there DNA as Gods people. When we look at “Fellowship” we find it was more than mere hanging out, but rather, it encompassed a  deep love and commitment to seeking and serving the good of one anther.

The New Testament lists over 50 “One Anothers”. These admonishments guard and guide us toward gospel togetherness. Reading through even a simple list will bring both conviction and challenge to the Spirit filled heart of any follower, for we are certainly not all of these things to one another. That said we are no less to prayer for and strive after seeing these traits thrive in us personally and corporately.

The following is a list of 52 of the NT “One Anothers” (There is some repetition no doubt meant by God to drive home some of the more central themes). God doesnt condemn us in Christ; the Spirit simply brings conviction. It’s important as we read through the list not to avoid the places we may fall short, but to embrace them as opportunities to pray and pursue Christ’s transforming work in our lives. What if you, listening toward the Lord’s leading, picked out 1-2 of these One Anothers and begin to pray for God to transform you in this area. What if, praying, you actively put into practice these traits that over the next days, weeks and months, Our Father loves to answer prayers for making us more like his Son. It brings him glory and us good. Why wouldn’t he, its the desire of his heart.

What would happen in our families, churches, schools and workplaces if you and I began express theses characteristics among the relationships God has placed you into? Image the presence of Christ lived out in our communities through the church? Puts a smile on y face just thinking about it in my life, let alone our lives collectively as a church.

Read, Pray, Print, Pursue and Enjoy.
